This is a compilation of tracks I’ve enjoyed playing the last 2 months at Barcode Vauxhall mixed with some other new stuff I’m looking forward to playing. If a definition is needed, you’ll find a bit of house, progressive and tech beats here. Hope you enjoy it! |
About eduardoSince I was a kid I was always playing with my plastic turntable and my sister’s Beatles collection, poor her I literally scratched them all... Once I was a little older I would die to be given toys in my birthday but when asked I’d prefer records. So then I started collecting records when I was 8 and 1 year later a cousin took me to an afternoon Disco. It was 1979 and I will never forget that powerful sound system and those sparkling lights. Since then I could never stop playing records and a not much later organizing house parties for my friends. My DJ life started officially in 1987 when I had have enough house parties and I was grown enough to play out. For the next four years, I was resident in two popular clubs in my hometown one was called Enigma and the other Ocidente. The recognition of a chain of successful gigs led me to play in Brazil and Argentina in clubs such as Bunker 94 club (Rio de Janeiro), X Demente party (Rio de Janeiro), Ibiza club (Rio Grande do Sul), Club Ave Porco (Buenos Aires), Vibe Club (Curitiba), Club Nova (Rio de Janeiro), Club Venue (S.Leopoldo) and Neo Club (Porto Alegre) always playing underground dance music, from house to techno and trance. As a result I was eventually invited to have my own radio show. It was called “Dancin’ Express” and was broadcasted for over five years at the regional FM Pop Rock radio station. In 1995 I founded a festival of fashion arts and electronic music called “mix bazaar” that quickly became part of the local cultural calendar of my hometown and promoted the local underground culture, supporting DJs, designers and musicians. In 2002 I moved to London to embark on a music production course at the Point Blank studios. Back in those days I was exploring the harder edge of house and techno it was then that I met the promoter Maria from Never Enough whose support helped me become regularly featured in recognised events and clubs such as Frantic, Heat, Logic, Riot, Tasty, Party Proactive and Antiworld. In April 2004 I had the bless to meet the DJs Rafael Araujo and Ilan Kriger mentors of the label BR909 and in collaboration with them we produced the track Calango later released as promo vinyl. In the same year I also produced another hard house/techno crossover called Eu Gosto Tanto de Voce (I like You So Much) and engineered by D’Marr Ford. In 2007 I became resident of a Rush Bar in Soho where I played until it sadly closed in august 2008. At Rush, I had a chance to slow down my bpm and spice up my selection with funkier beats. It was a memorable time. Nowadays I am proud to have the chance to join the Barcode music crew a few times a month! Fans of this ShowEduardo's Friends
